Free resources available for folks interested in self-improvement, career development and community service at A-New-Direction.com
SANTA MONICA, CALIF., JULY 6, 2010: The financial crisis has been tough on all of us. On the bright-side, nothing builds character and skills like adversity. Better still, for those of us left reevaluating our priorities and career choices in the wake of adversity, the Internet offers tons of valuable information. But how can you find what you need without searching for hours and hours? Simple. Visit A-New-Direction.com. This new website offers a community and free resources for folks interested in career development, self-improvement, lifelong learning and community service.
Toolboxes for Life
A-New-Direction.com prescreens its resources, providing visitors and members with toolboxes filled with links to free, quality information that can help make a difference. Toolboxes include tools, tests and tips for: career development, health and wellness, community service, social networking, leadership, lifelong learning, and, more.
Enrich Yourself. Enrich Your Community.
Interested in sharing your expertise? Members and community leaders may create and contribute their own content to the site. The focus is sharing best practices. Visitors and members can use Twitter, Facebook and RSS feeds to keep tabs on the latest information shared by the community and review articles of interest by clicking the supplied links. Membership is free.
While there are resources for all generations, the site was designed particularly with Baby Boomers and Gen-Xers in mind. It offers tons of resources for parents and professionals and enough community to help members to share and gain a better understanding of the more social aspects of the web -- what their children and -- for some of you -- even grandchildren take for granted today. We live in an interesting and rapidly changing time. Kids today view privacy differently from the over 30 crowd, as evidenced by the rapid adoption of Facebook, Twitter and Formspring. For those of you as perplexed as the site founders at what they see children exposed to and participating in today, you can even pose questions to teenagers in the "ask-a-teenager" forum to find out what's going on in their minds.
